How Cruise Horizon began

In 2019, our founder was volunteering at a Liverpool community center when a teenager asked a question that changed everything: "Why didn't anyone teach us this stuff before?"

The "stuff" was basic budgeting. The teenager had just received their first paycheck and didn't know how to allocate it. Not because they weren't intelligent, but because no one had ever shown them.

That moment sparked a realization. Financial literacy wasn't being taught systematically. It was being passed down randomly, creating a lottery where some people learned and others didn't.

Our approach

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all financial advice. A seven-year-old needs different tools than a seventeen-year-old. Someone earning £25,000 faces different decisions than someone earning £75,000.

Instead, we meet people where they are. We use plain language without dumbing down complex concepts. We teach principles, not just products.

Most importantly, we create judgment-free spaces. There are no stupid questions about money. Only questions that haven't been answered yet.

Who we serve

Our programmes span generations because financial challenges don't respect age boundaries.

We work with children discovering the concept of value for the first time. Teenagers navigating their first jobs and student finance decisions. Adults restructuring debt or planning for major life changes. Families trying to create shared financial strategies.

What unites everyone who walks through our doors? The desire to understand money better. That's enough.

What drives our work

Clarity over complexity

Financial concepts can be explained clearly without being simplified to uselessness. We find that balance.

Education, not selling

We don't sell financial products. We teach financial principles. Our success is measured by your understanding, not our commissions.

Practical application

Theory without practice is just trivia. Every concept we teach comes with real-world application you can use immediately.

Accessibility

Financial literacy shouldn't be a privilege. We structure our pricing to be sustainable for us and accessible for you.

Our team

We're educators first, financial professionals second. Our team includes former teachers, community workers, and finance specialists who've all experienced the frustration of watching people struggle with concepts that could be taught clearly.

What we all share is the belief that financial stress is often an education problem with an education solution. And we're committed to providing that solution.

Work with us

Whether you're seven or seventy, it's never too early or too late to improve your financial literacy.
